Grandmaster Nigel Short returns to defend his title in the 16th iteration of Bangkok Chess Club’s successful annual open tournaments.
The Swiss System format is used, with time control of 90 minutes for 40 moves plus 30 minutes for the rest of the game and 30s increment from move 1. The Open Tournament is 9 rounds, while the Challenger, for under 2100 or unrated, is 7 rounds.
First prize is 100,000 Baht
