ACA Q1 WEEKDAY TOURNAMENTS 2016
Organiser: The Tournament is organised by ASEAN CHESS ACADEMY and played under the Laws of Chess and the following rules. There will be separate tournaments.
Eligibility: Each tournament shall have a maximum of 40 players on “first-come-first-serve” basis.
Venue: ACA HPE Training Centre at 170 Upper Bukit Timah Road, #10-04 Bukit Timah Shopping Centre, Singapore 588179. Tel: 96337946; 97574465
Dates: Players may register for any or as many Tournaments:
Time: 7pm to 10pm. 30 minutes default time.
Format & Time Control: 5 rounds Swiss System/Round-Robin. 90 minutes per player to complete the game. The tournaments are NOT rated.
Entry Fee: $50 per tournament. Cash or cheque payable to ASEAN CHESS ACADEMY PTE LTD to above address. Or email to ignatius@aseanchessacademy.com with confirmation of direct payment to DBS Account: 070-900185-8.
Closing Date: Wednesday, Dec 30th and respective Wednesdays at 8pm or if 40 entries have already been received.
All the registered Players will be ranked on a “Start List” according to their rating – Standard, Rapid, Blitz. In case of a tie, the players will be ranked in order of age. The top 6 will be assigned to Group A; the next 6 to Group B; etc … with the last group of more than 6 players to play a Swiss.
For the purpose of the ranking of Start List for subsequent tournaments, players who finish in the top 3 will be considered to be placed 5 ranks, 3 ranks, 1 rank higher. For example, a player finishing 2nd and is ranked 8th in the next start list, this player will be “promoted” to 5th instead.
Prizes: The Champion in each Tournament Group will receive an ACA Voucher valued for $250 which can be used as entry fees for any ACA tournament, Membership fee, ACA merchandise or any activity organised by the ACA.
In the event of any dispute against the Chief Arbiter, the decision of the Appeals Committee shall be FINAL and no further correspondences shall be entertained.
