Alden Chan is the Under 8 Champion of Nee Soon East Let’s Have Chess Challenge Together

Three players tied with 6 points out of 7 rounds and Alden Chan finished at the top by virtue of direct encounter.

Heading into the final round Alden is behind by one point against the leader Alyssa Ng who was then perfect with 6 points out of 6 rounds (!)

In a must-win situation, Alden managed to get a big advantage in the opening, carefully repelled the opponent’s counter chances, and went on to convert a full point.

Alden also won against the other six-pointer Rajeshwari Sattvik during the second round of the competition.
